Big Bike Revival 2

The second Big Bike Revival has been launched by CTC, the national cycling charity, and events will be held across the UK from the 23rd May till the 7th June this year.

Here in Hebden Bridge, cycle:recycle will be hosting a range of activities, working closely with Blazing Saddles

During the event there will be a chance to win a range of prizes which include 100 brand-new bikes from the extensive Raleigh range, as well as 1,500 cycling accessory packs, by filling in a short survey.

You’ll also be able to win one of 5,000 annual memberships to CTC, the national cycling charity, which will give you exclusive access to thousands of rides and routes, information to help you get the most from your cycling, and great discounts in hundreds of cycle and outdoor shops across the UK.

Programme of events:

BIG BIKE JUMBLE SALE - vintage, retro, project bikes, array of bike parts, built bikes etc. This will be held at cycle:recycle workshop throughout the event, on weekdays only, from 10am till 4pm.

Weds 27th May 11am till 3pm - launch of Big Bike Revival in the centre of Hebden Bridge with Handmade Parade, Wheely Nice Ice Cream - where you can find out information on all things cycling.

Thurs 28th May 11am till 3pm - Dr Bike at cycle:recycle workshop on Victoria Rd, where you can bring your bike along for an assessment as to its roadworthiness.

Fri 29th May 10am till 1pm - Maintenance workshop at cycle:recycle workshop. Led by a Cytech qualified workshop leader, this workshop has limited spaces and so it is important you book a place by phoning 01422 842121 or emailing us.

Sat 30th May, 10am till 1pm - Love my Bike at Blazing Saddles - you will be shown how to wash and lube your bike

Tues 2nd June 1pm till 3pm - Electric Bike taster sessions at cycle:recycle. Come and have a go on a Trek electric bike

Weds 3rd June 1pm till 4pm - Wheely Wednesday at cycle:recycle workshop. Come and learn how to check and service your wheels. It is essential to book on to this by phoning or emailing, as places are limited.

As well as all this, the cycle:recycle workshop will be open throughout the Big Bike Revival (weekdays only) where there will be information on local cycling activities and all things cycling. You will also be able to donate your old bikes here (please can you make sure they are not too rusty or far gone).

Blazing Saddles have also kindly agreed to offer their bike wash facilities, free bbr 2helmet and saddle fitting - and 10% off bike maintenance products including tools, lube etc, throughout the event.
